Keltic
Hello CA buddies.

Not sure if anyone noticed but I have been away from WOT, BC2 abd the forums for a wee while.

I suffer from Crohns disease.  There is no cure but medication can help to control the problem.  Crohns is where your immune system is over stimulated and attacks healthy tissue, mainly in the small bowl.  This leads to internal bleeding and ulcers / scars forming.  This in turn stops your bowels from working properly.

I have had Crohns since I was a teenager and I am very lucky that the drugs I take manage the disease very well.  The problems I have been having lately are due to old scars from previous operations.  These scars can thicken up over time and cause my bowel to work in reverse or not work at all.  Yes it hurts (a lot).

The ideal solution would be to remove these scars however there are only some many operations you can have before you end up having to be fed by tubes for the rest of your life.  Crohns also attacks the sites of these operations so a few years later you end up having more surgery, catch 22.

The drugs I am now taking are working well.  I have to stay on high dose steroids for a few weeks before I need to have a minor, non invasive, operation.

This means that I am not going to be on-line as much as I would like although I tend to log onto BC2 when I am feeling really crap as it helps take my mind of being ill.

I am back at work and traveling a wee bit so you may see me online in the eveings during the week.

I hope to be 100% in the new few weeks and back to my normal self.
