Alot of mixed opinions on the beta.. I liked it, the game has potential but there is some cod type features id rather not see. Has it put me off the game, no chance!!! Am really looking forward to this one. I have abit more hope this time around it will breath abit life back into CA. Only time will tell...
"Our Open Beta was a special moment for all of us who work across the project – you all finally got hands on with our game. Before we get into the various learnings, takeaways, and improvements that we have in motion for the launch of Battlefield™ 2042, and beyond, we have two special thank yous.
Thank you for jumping in and playing! We know how much you all look forward to a new Battlefield game, but we saw more of you on that first day than we could possibly have imagined. Watching you each discover the tools of our sandbox, and the different ways in which you can use them to Play the Objective was truly very special for us.
Thank you also for taking the time to talk to us, and share your feedback. We don’t take it for granted." alot more on it at .....
The sliding about the place, solider movement, gameplay just felt different from what i remember but the last BF i played properly was BF4. It was a beta after all, alot of game features were missing, spotting etc. Really not a fan of specialists. You shoulve downlaoded the beta and got a few rounds in mate, will take us all to get abit activity back in CA.
I was lucky enough to get in the Alpha Technical Playtest and lemme tell ya... Not much changed between that and the open beta. Hell, only thing I noticed was slightly better server stability, and the activation of the silly tornado.
I must've been spoiled by Battlefield 2, looking back at Bad Company, BF3, BF4... They were all missing the true squad features that Battlefield 2 nailed. What happened to marking waypoints on maps for your squad to rally on? Comms with a commander? Squad naming, etc... Its why these titles die out so fast. BF1 and BF5 only accelerated their deaths with outrageously silly balancing and world building.
The larger spread out capture zones make for a really awkward flow, flanks are far easier cause everyone's focus is just all over the place.

Cant argue with anything youve said mate. BF2 was dices finest moment. If they remade BF2 and MTW2 id die happy!!! BC2 was good fun, we all had a good few games on that.
There was talk of the commander returning? Battlefield 2042 still has potential to be a good game, ive been away from the series for a while and its possible thats played part in me feeling like a kid at xmas HAHA. If i had played the other 2 more maybe id think different..
How kool would it be if they added a BF2 type mode into portal later on.
EDIT: the quotes look crap, that will be fixed soon
