was wondering about if id buy me a GTX360 with 480SP´s then i should be getting 4x more speed than already, just then the harddrives will start to be a bottleneck for highres fraps video so i´ll have to raid a couple or more together to cope with the programs readspeed of the huge fraps files.
then its that my current 8800GT cards are fanless and id hate to have to go back to a noisy card.

Since I´m into cutting and converting videos and such I was thinking..
Dont know if you know this but you can transcode video with your GPU SP´s if its not too old and much faster than with a multicore cpu
I got 2x 8800GT 512mb (112 Stream Processors)
I'm wondering coz i´d like to compare notes on the transcoding speed difference between nivdia and ati cards
its all done with the streamprocessors on the card, nvida SP´s are usually faster at this (more optimized) than ATi but Ati has usually more SP's on theyr cards so its difficult to know what card is better than than another.
for example then on my 8800GT 512 I have 112 SP´s and they transcode a 700mb file in 6-12 minutes (mostly depending on the length of the video) while it's taking maybe 40minutes on my 4core Q6600
the newest nvida cards have 240 SP´s and the latest Ati cards have 1600 SP´s

I dont include X2 (2 GPU´s) cards in the list as they dont work in parallel when trans-coding you can only use one of the GPU for any 1 Trans-coding job, so lets say you have 4 cards (then id recommend having atleast a 4core cpu also) in your machine then you could be trans-coding 4 videos at the same time finishing transcoding a whole season of some episodes in less than a hour though I'd not recommend it for a too long time as I have had my machine freeze when putting a heavy load like that on it and then if I dont repeatedly hit cancel on atleast one job it crashes and can potentially damage the cards if not more :S

all you need to do is type in game mate,theres nothing to it.if you decide to ill get you a link to all the in game codes so you can save it and have a look anytime
