Hey guys, It's been a while since I've had a chance to settle down after getting this beast of a rig I was always talking about way back when we were playing Battlefield 3 and around the release of Battlefield 4.

To be frank I was getting tired of the laptop I've had for 2 years now. It's good for school work, and by that I mean High School stuff. Those days are long gone, and good riddance.

Don't let its sleek appearance fool you, after 2 years of the shit I put it through; running Battlefield 4 for a few hours straight the gpu... It started to make some not so good smells. The negative kind of vibes if you catch my drift.

The HP Pavilion DV6; 1920x1080, core i7, Nvidia Geforce GT 650M - 2gb, 1 TB HD. (Seen left)

The box on the far right is a Linux dedicated box. I use this to host home run dedicated servers of the sorts when playing with friends on new games and such. It's also a test environment to get myself better acquainted with the Linux environment.

Rig Specs: (for center computer)

Motherboard/CPU:

Intel® Core™ i7-4790K CPU/Asus Z97-AR LGA 1150 ATX MB Bundle

GPU:

Asus GeForce GTX 780 Ti Video Card - 3GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 3.0 (x16), Overclocked - GTX780TI-DC2OC-3GD5

Hard Drive / SSD:

1. Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Serial ATA Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s

2. Kingston V300 240GB Solid State Drive Notebook Kit - 2.5" Form Factor, SATA III 6Gb/s - SV300S3N7A/240G

RAM:

PNY XLR8 MD16384K4D3-1600-X9 Desktop Memory Kit - 16GB (4x4GB), PC3-12800, DDR3-1600MHz, CAS 9, 1.65v

Power Supply:

XFX P1650SNLB9 Core Edition Power Supply - 650W, 80 Plus Bronze, 135mm Fan, Active PFC, Single +12V Rail

Case:

Thermaltake ARMOR REVO GENE VO800M1W2N ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case - 2x200mm Fan, 1x120mm Fan, 4x5.25" Drive Bays, 6x3.5" Drive Bays, 7xExp Slots,4xUSB Ports, 1xAudio Port, Black

Monitor x2:

HannsG 21.5" Widescreen LED Monitor - 1920 x 1080, 16:9, 5ms, 40000000:1, 1000:1 Native, VGA, DVI-D, Energy Star - HE225DPB

Sound Card:

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy SE 70SB057000001 Sound Card - 7.1 Channel, Supports SPDIF, Line In, Headphone Out

Keyboard/Mouse:

Logitech G110 Keyboard

- Will be replacing with: Vengeance® K70 RGB Blue Set once released

I've been using the next two with the laptop for a while now. I've had my Logitech G110 Keyboard since my last desktop (which I sold when getting the laptop). And this lovely Ttesports Level 10M Mouse. (I highly recommend the mouse. It's comfortable, it doesn't have a shitload of buttons like a naga, but still has enough buttons for comfort. The weight of the mouse also makes the difference from a standard $10-$20 mouse.

The images of the build can be found here.

Very nice!

btw from the sounds of it would I be right in thinking you're thinking of a career in software engineering?

I'm actually going to go down the line of Game Development. I'm pretty quick to learn basic scripting just through trial and error, however I have a knack for the design of things. For example; I've been working on this for a while now. Progress has been put on halt due to a build up of college work and competitive Team Fortress 2.
By the way, the Highlander Team i'm on ALMOST made it to the playoffs. We were very close, but got screwed over by the Item Server being down for some of our players who frequently change weapons during the match. We did make it into the Provisional Playoffs though!
Here is more on that.

Fair enough, I'm currently doing a PhD in Computer Science and my gf is a software engineer at IBM so if there's anything you need a hand with software engineering wise feel free to ask
