considering a new build, maybe for black Friday
Things have changed alot since I last looked...
If yous have time, have a look about and see what you can come up with? Budget max 800 to build a atx tower.. less the better lol.
I'll post up what I was looking at in more detail later, was along the lines of amd ryzen 5000 series 3600 cpu b550 mobo and 850w psu really wasn't sure on gpu, dont mind getting basic one and upgrading later though... ssd or hdd any helps appreciated
Edit:
Older mobo, cheapest bundle could see..
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-rog-strix-b450-f-am4-atx-motherboard-plus-amd-ryzen-5-3600-6-core-12-thread-processor-w-wraith
Only diff is mobo
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-rog-strix-b550-f-gaming-atx-motherboard-plus-amd-ryzen-5-3600-6-core-cpu-bundle
Could get cheaper psu, worth risk?
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w-evga-b3-series-full-modular-80plus-bronze-sli-crossfire-single-rail-708a-130mm-fan-atx-psu
Cheapest case could see lol:
https://www.scan.co.uk/products/gamemax-abyss-argb-full-tower-chassis-w-tempered-glass-window-120mm-argb-fan-usb-30-atx-eatx-microat
Was thinking saving on ram for now, still.get away with 8gb?
Unsure about gpu at moment

I take it there's more demand for more memory these days?
650w defo enough to power that , enough if I upgrade gpu maybe one day
Ssd and hdd? I know ssd runs faster, would it not be better for it all to run on ssd?
Cheers

SSD for the OS.
HDD to install games.
850w is overkill. I got that GPU and a 650w PSU but it ran fine on my last one which was 550w.
8gb will work, 16's pretty much standard for new builds nowadays.

Recycle anything you can. If you have a HDD you can stick in there, you're back in budget.
I'm at the point of a new system now. Can't really upgrade individual bits anymore. It still runs everything fine but if something goes pop, i'm fooked.
Recently, I've mainly been sitting in the Menu Screens of CoD, No Man's Sky and a bit of Division 2.
BF1 was meh and BF5 got support dropped the moment they started releasing good maps.
Got into Warframe for a bit and War Thunder held my attention for a couple of months but the epic grind for progression got boring.
If anyone's up for a game on something, give us a shout. I can install TS or Vent if anyone has it?
No idea on the price front, she's not done that job for a couple of years now. SSDs have come down though.

Ok mate, I was considering waiting to see if prices drop much more, always risk some returing to original price.
Xmas soon mate, good excuse
A few of those games I've not even heard of, my cousins been hammering cod on xbox , said its good. Pc/console games sounds interesting. I remember bf1, didn't even know there was a bf5..
Sounds like world of tanks, was a mission
Can see me returning to gaming as much, know what it can be like when get hooked. My old i3 struggles to play coh2, looking forward to playing that again. Ill be using the TV for a wee while

Memory , mobo is 3600 oc.. does that mean it needs to be overclocked or cannot be used. Need to buy non oc memory or overstock?
Fan isn't am4 compatible ?
Case and gpu sold out lol, waiting for deals isn't helping lol
Just waiting a few days before I order , hopefully worthwhile

I dunno if you want to stick to Scan but this might be worth a look:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/recon-a36-amd-ryzen-5-3600-six-core-value-atx-gaming-bundle-bu-0bs-og.html
If you scroll down to the bottom you can change parts in the bundle.

I'd say as long as you're not overclocking then a stock cooler should be fine?

Ares chucked a spanner in the works , the INTEL CORE I5-10400F seems to perform as good as the ryzen 5 3600 for gaming and is cheaper
, no sure about bundles though.
Just playing around , somewhere to save for Friday lol

I got the same case.
Well, the P35 version. 1 fan at the back, 2 on top and 3 each front and bottom.
The 2 at the top aren't RGB but the fans to fill the set are cheap enough.
You should get 3 more for the PSU cover. It looks pretty cool. They all link into a controller stuck to the back of the mobo tray and should come with a remote.
Make sure the IR sensor is poking out somewhere you can hit it with the remote. Not that you need it, there should be a button for the lights on the front panel.

Its up and running, windows installed but am not sure ill get it forfree now as its a new install.
I have the fans at the back of the case set as exhaust, do the ones at front face the same way, so the exhaust side pushes air towards the back?
I plugged the hdmi cable into wrong bit, not paying attention then thinking I fucked up as it looked like it wasn't booting lol.
Looking forward to getting everything installed. Fans look kool. Gpu is massive compared to older ones i had.

The fans at the front should pull fresh air in and then the rear fans should act like a exhaust and push the warm air in the case out
