So my research group's Professor said that if I can come up with a good idea for the Oculus Rift I can have it.......so any ideas people!?

Essentially the research groups aim is to help older people who suffer from mental disabilities to live in their own home without the need for carers/help so if anyone can come up with an idea I get an Oculus Rift for gaming Very Happy

Sadly no, there is an external camera that faces you (normally placed on top of the PC monitor) that monitors your orientation.

You're going to leave people with mental disabilities on their own with high tech equipment?

I can't see that ending well.

If anything, I would have thought that the Mental Health service would benefit more from more staff.

So with that in mind, you could offer a free Oculus headset to every Mental Health professional when they gain their qualification.

Well the idea is that a smart environment can look after the occupant so the Health Service isn't constantly under manned with having to provide cares staff 24/7

lol I've a few games that can use it, like Assetto Corsa and the new Alien survival game uses it among others.
