Does anyone know if you can back up games on Origin the same way you can on steam to save me having to download it again?

The only thing I can think of is to copy the install directory and verify or repair in origins case when you move them back.

yes, i think there is a way...
im working on it myself, as i need to reinstall windows. ill let u kno as soon i kno some more. :)

btw, how do u it for steam? i found 2 ways of doing it & they somehow seem to overlap, im a bit confused..!
last time i had to reinstall i only got some games' progress back (ie napo & shog2 were ok, but not empire, having done = processs...) Razz

For Steam I just used the back up game option.

If you UNINSTALL Origin completely, it will remove your .crc files, which validate that your games are up to date with the latest patch content etc. If these files are removed, the next time you log back into Origin, Origin will begin re-downloading the entire game.

If for any reason you need to un-install and re-install Origin, but you have already fully installed Origin games like BF3 or FIFA 12, please back up the following files prior to uninstalling Origin.
Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Origin\DownloadCache.
Find the files named “xxxxx.file_crcs”.
Copy these files to another directory (Desktop etc.).
Uninstall Origin, then re-install Origin.
Move the CRC files back into the DownloadCache directory.
Run Origin and launch your games.
Origin should not attempt to re-download the game.''
